Staff attendance
👤 For: All staff and store managers
The Attendance tab is where your team checks in when they arrive and checks out when they leave. It also tells everyone who's in today. And when you're booking appointments, it helps avoid booking someone who isn't here.
🔓 Optional feature: Attendance If you have the Built-in Attendance feature, you'll see the Attendance tab on computers and large tablets. Ask your admin to turn ON
IsBuiltInAttendanceEnabledin the back office settings. If the setting is not available, please contact Invoay Support.On phones, Attendance is always available as a tile in the Menu.
What you'll see
A list of every staff member, showing today's times under each name.

| Button | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🔴 Check-In (red) | They haven't checked in at all today. |
| 🟢 Check-In (green) | They were in earlier, checked out, and can check in again. For example, after lunch. |
| 🟢 Check-Out | They're currently checked in. |
Check in
- Open the Attendance tab.
- Find your name and tap Check-In.
- Tap Yes to confirm.
Your check-in time appears under your name.
Check out
- Find your name and tap Check-Out.
- Tap Yes to confirm.
💡 Tip: You can check in and out more than once a day, for example for a lunch break. Each pair of times is listed under your name.
Using a fingerprint or face-scan machine
If your store uses a biometric attendance machine, staff scan in on the machine as usual, and Simple POS picks up the times automatically.
- Tap the 🔄 sync button (bottom right) to pull in the latest scans straight away.
- Simple POS also syncs on its own every few minutes.

Something not working?
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Something went wrong please try again after some time" on the Attendance screen | Tap Refresh. If it keeps happening, check that this counter is connected to your main counter. |
| Error when checking in or out | Try again. If it keeps failing, check the connection and contact Invoay Support. |
| Biometric scans aren't showing | Tap 🔄 sync. If they still don't appear, ask Invoay Support to check the machine connection. |
