Change or remove items in the bill

👤 For: Cashiers and front-desk staff

Customer changed their mind? Picked the wrong size? No problem. You can change anything in the bill before you check out.

Change an item​

  1. In the bill, tap the item you want to change.
  2. An edit window opens. Change what you need:

Sale CostChange the price. (Only if your store allows price changes. See below.)
Percent DiscountGive a % discount on this item.
Cash DiscountGive a money-off discount on this item.

You'll also see some read-only details for reference: the Final Amount, MRP, Barcode, Tax Type and tax breakdown.

  1. Tap SAVE.

🔓 Optional feature: Price changes The Sale Cost box can be edited only if price changes are allowed for your store. Some stores allow the price to go up but not down. If so, you'll see Price Decrement Not Allowed when you try to lower it. Ask your admin to turn ON ShouldAllowPriceChanges (under Cart Settings). To allow increases only, also turn ON AllowIncreaseNotDecreaseMrp in the back office settings. If the setting is not available, please contact Invoay Support.

Discount limits​

Your store sets a maximum discount per item. If you go over it, you'll see a message such as "Percent Discount must be less than 20 % of Item Price." Ask your manager if a customer needs a bigger discount.

Bulk quantity offers​

Some items get a discount automatically when you buy more, for example "10% off when you buy 3 or more". When this happens, you'll see Bulk Quantity Offer on the item. You can't lower that discount. If the offer doesn't allow extra discounts, you can't change it at all.

Remove one item​

  1. Tap the item in the bill.
  2. Tap Remove.
  3. Tap Confirm.

Remove several items at once​

  1. Press and hold the first item you want to remove. A tick box appears.
  2. Tap any other items to tick them too.
  3. Tap Remove, then Confirm.

Changed your mind? Tap Dismiss to untick everything.

When you can't remove an item​

🔓 Optional feature: Lock items on held bills Some stores stop items from being removed once a bill has been put on hold. This protects staff commissions. Ask your admin about DisableRemovalHoldItems in the back office settings. If the setting is not available, please contact Invoay Support.

Read the item details in the bill​

Each line in the bill can show extra information under the item name:

  • Staff name, or Employee Required in red if you still need to pick someone
  • Batch and Expiry (for batch-tracked products)
  • The discounts applied: Pct Disc, Cash Disc, Offer Disc, Membership Disc, Loyalty Disc, Coupon Discount

At the bottom of the bill, you'll see Items, Total Tax, Total Qty and Cart Total.
