Choose a customer for the bill
đ¤ For: Cashiers and front-desk staff
Adding the customer to the bill means their visit, points, wallet and packages are all kept up to date. It only takes a few seconds.
Find an existing customerâ
- On the billing screen, tap Search Customer, or press F1 on a computer.
- Start typing the customer's name or phone number.
- Tap the right customer in the list.
As soon as you pick a customer, Simple POS may show you a few helpful pop-ups:
- đ Last Remark. The last note saved for this customer, such as "Prefers Anita, allergic to ammonia". Tap Dismiss to continue.
- đ° Pending amount. Shows any money the customer still owes from earlier visits.
- đ Birthday or đ Anniversary. A reminder if it's today, or coming up within the next 30 days. A great moment to wish them!
Add a new customerâ
If the person isn't in your list yet:
- Search for them as above. You'll see Customer Not Found.
- Type their phone number or email, then tap Add New.
- Fill in their details and save.
đ Optional feature: OTP check for new customers If your store has this turned on, the customer receives a one-time code on their phone. Enter it to finish saving them. Ask your admin to turn ON
ValidateOtpOnCustomerSave(under OTP Validation Settings) in the back office settings. If the setting is not available, please contact Invoay Support.
What the customer card showsâ
Once a customer is chosen, their card appears above the Hold and Load buttons.
| You see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Last Visit | The date of their last bill |
| Wallet | Money they have in their store wallet (shown only if they have some) |
| Pending | Money they still owe (shown only if they owe something) |
| L | The value of their loyalty points |
| M | Their active membership |
| MW | Their membership wallet balance |
| P | How many package services they still have left to use |
đĄ Tip: Tap any of the small L / M / MW / P badges, or the đ¤ icon, to open the customer's full profile right from the billing screen.
Billing without a customer (walk-in)â
For a quick sale, such as someone buying a shampoo, you can skip choosing a customer and go straight to checkout.
A few things do need a customer, though:
- Paying with the store wallet, membership wallet or loyalty points
- Leaving part of the bill pending to pay later
- Selling packages, memberships or gift vouchers
đ Optional feature: Customer required on every bill Some stores ask for a customer on every bill. If yours does, you'll see Customer Mandatory for Billing when you try to finish a bill without one. Ask your admin about
IsCustomerMandatory(under Bill Settings) in the back office settings. If the setting is not available, please contact Invoay Support.
Change or remove the customerâ
Tap the customer's name and search for someone else.
âšī¸ Note: Once a package or membership wallet item is in the bill, the customer can't be changed. These are tied to that person. Remove those items first if you picked the wrong customer.
