Take payment and finish the bill

This is the last step: collect the money and print the receipt. The customer can pay one way, or split the bill across several.
Open the Checkout screenβ
When everything is in the bill, tap CHECKOUT (F2) (on a phone, tap the π cart button first).

The big number at the top is the balance: how much is still left to pay. It goes down as you enter payments.
Take a single paymentβ
- Under Select Payment Method, tap how the customer is paying, e.g. Cash.
- Type the amount they're paying.
- Check that the balance at the top shows βΉ0.00.
- Tap PRINT RECEIPT, or press F2. π
π Optional feature: Fill in the amount automatically If your store has this turned on, the full bill amount is filled in under Cash for you. Just check it and print. Ask your admin to turn ON

Giving changeβ
If the customer hands over more cash than the bill (for example βΉ2,000 for a βΉ1,850 bill), type the amount they gave. The balance shows a minus amount, which is the change to hand back.
βΉοΈ Note: Change can only be given when the customer pays fully in cash. Some stores don't allow entering more than the bill amount at all. In that case, just enter the exact bill amount.
Split the paymentβ
Customer wants to pay part cash, part card? Easy.
- Tap the first payment method and enter its amount.
- Tap Add Payment Method and choose the next one.
- Enter the remaining amount.
- Once the balance shows βΉ0.00, tap PRINT RECEIPT.
To remove a payment line, tap its ποΈ delete icon, then Delete.
π Optional feature: More than one non-cash payment of the same type Normally, each payment method can be used once per bill. If your store allows it, you can add the same non-cash method more than once, for example two different cards. Ask your admin to turn ON
AllowMultipleNonCashPayments(under Bill Settings) in the back office settings. If the setting is not available, please contact Invoay Support.
Extra details: Some payment methods ask for one more detail, such as a card number (4 to 64 characters) or a reference number. Just fill in the extra box that appears.
Extra charges: Some payment methods add a small fee. If so, you'll see "Additional Chargeβ¦ | Payable Amountβ¦" under the amount, so you know exactly what to collect.
Pay with the customer's wallet, points or membershipβ
These options only work when a customer is chosen for the bill. Without a customer, they're greyed out.
Store wallet (prepaid balance)β
- Tap the wallet payment method.
- The customer's Wallet Balance is shown. Enter the amount to use.
You can't use more than the balance. If you try, you'll see "Insufficient Balance".

Loyalty pointsβ
- Tap Loyalty Points.
- The Loyalty Point Redeem window shows the customer's Available Points, what they're worth, the Minimum Pts Required, and the maximum they can use at your store.
- Enter the Number of Pts to Redeem.
- Tap Redeem.

Membership walletβ
π Optional feature: Membership Wallet You'll see this payment method only if Membership Wallet is turned on for your store. Ask your admin to turn ON
IsMembershipWalletEnabled(under Membership Wallet Settings) in the back office settings. If the setting is not available, please contact Invoay Support.
- Tap Membership Wallet.
- Choose which of the customer's membership wallets to use. You'll see each one's Current Balance, Purchase Date and Expiry Date.
- Enter the Redeem Amount, then tap Redeem.
If the customer is paying only by membership wallet, the wallet must cover the whole bill. If it doesn't, add another payment method for the difference.

Pay by card or UPI on a connected card machineβ
If your store uses a card machine that's connected to Simple POS, the amount is sent to the machine for you.
- Tap the card machine's payment method, for example WorldLine, PhonePe, Razorpay or BonusHub.
- Check the Amount, choose Card or UPI, and tap Pay.
- Follow the prompts on the card machine. Simple POS shows the payment's progress.
- When the payment goes through, it's added to the bill automatically.
If something goes wrong, you'll see options to Retry, Check Status, Cancel Transaction or Change Payment Type.
π·οΈ Applies to: Stores with a connected card machine. On the WorldLine and Razorpay editions, only Cash and the built-in card machine are offered. To connect a card machine, please contact Invoay Support.
Leave part of the bill to pay later (pending amount)β
Sometimes a regular customer pays part now and the rest later.
- Enter what the customer is paying now.
- Tap PRINT RECEIPT. Simple POS asks "Do you wish to allow pending amount?"
- Optionally, pick a Pending Amount Due Date.
- Tap Yes.
The unpaid amount is saved against the customer. It shows as Pending on their card next time you bill them.
Good to know:
- A pending amount needs a registered customer. Walk-in bills must be paid in full.
π Optional feature: Pending amounts Some stores don't allow pending amounts at all. If yours doesn't, you'll see Pending Amount Not Allowed, and the bill must be paid in full. Ask your admin about

Add a tip for the staffβ
π Optional feature: Tips If you have the Tips feature, you'll see a Tip button at the top of the Checkout screen. Ask your admin to turn ON

- Tap Tip.
- Enter the Tip Amount.
- Tick the staff member(s) who should get it. If more than one, enter each person's Split Amount.
- Tap Select.
The split must add up to the full tip, and nobody can get βΉ0. Once added, the button shows the tip total, e.g. Tip βΉ100.
Add a note to the billβ
Tap Remark at the top of the Checkout screen, type a note (for example "Customer to collect product tomorrow"), and save it. The note is kept with the bill.
Picking the staff member for the billβ
π Optional feature: Staff on every bill Some stores record which staff member each bill belongs to. If yours does, Simple POS asks you to choose an employee when you tap PRINT RECEIPT. Ask your admin to turn ON

Finish upβ
When the balance is βΉ0.00 (or you've agreed a pending amount), tap PRINT RECEIPT (F2). You'll see "Processing bill", then the Receipt Summary. See Print or reprint a receipt.
π Optional feature: Round off the bill If your store rounds bills to the nearest whole amount, the total is rounded automatically. For example, βΉ1,849.60 becomes βΉ1,850. Ask your admin to turn ON
