Log out and close your shift
👤 For: Everyone who uses Simple POS
Logging out when you finish keeps your sales under your name. It also stops anyone else from billing under your login.
How to log out
On a computer or large tablet:
- At the top right of any screen, tap the chip with your name on it.
On a phone or small tablet:
- At the top right, tap the 👤 profile icon.
- Tap Log Out.
A window with your name at the top opens.
Check that everything is saved online
The log-out window shows a short list, such as bills and customers, with a small circle next to each one:

| ✅ Green tick | Everything of this kind has been safely saved online. |
| 🔴 Red number | That many items are still waiting to be saved online. |
If you see a red number, don't worry. It usually just means the internet is slow. Keep Simple POS open and connected, and the window refreshes on its own every few seconds. Once everything turns green, you're good to go.
⚠️ Important: Try not to switch off the main counter while any red numbers are showing. Wait until they turn green.
Finish up
At the bottom of the window, you'll see these buttons:

| LOGOUT | Logs you out and returns to the login screen. |
| Dismiss | Closes the window. You stay logged in. |
| CLOSING | Opens the end-of-day cash closing screen. See Close the day. |
🔓 Optional feature: Cash counting at closing You'll see the CLOSING button only if cash counting at day end is turned on for your store. Ask your admin to turn ON
IsCurrencyBasedDayEndEnabled(under Day End Settings) in the back office settings. If the setting is not available, please contact Invoay Support.
Good to know
- Simple POS logs everyone out at midnight. If the app is still open when the date changes, you'll see Day Changed Detect. Restarting app. Just log in again. This makes sure each day's sales stay on the right date.
- Closing the app on a computer? Simple POS asks "Do you really want to quit?" Tap Yes to close it.
